I don't know if there was a better child sitcom character than Dee from What's Happening.
Her delivery was sublime.
Dr. Danielle Spencer that is.
She left acting to pursue her career as a veterinarian in the 1990's.
Dee puts the Doobie Brothers in their place. 😂😂
What I always loved about her character, is that clearly, this was her first job. She got better at it, but you can see her always thinking about her next line and not often looking at the other actor. Shirley Hemphill was the same way.
Somehow it worked perfectly.
